Hello everyone,

How are you all doing?

I'm passing by to share with you the "Ministerial Declaration of the G7
Digital and Tech Ministers’ Meeting" (attached) held on April 30th, 2023.
The G7 meeting is taking place on May 19-21.

The Japanese presidency's agenda can give us a glimpse of what to expect at
IGF 2023, with a focus on the following:

   -

   The mention of the "UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights,"
   which has been widely cited in discussions of tech companies'
   responsibility;

   -

   The agenda of connectivity and cooperation with the G20 Digital Economy
   Working Group;

   -

   Support for GDC, WSIS, and IGF;

   -

   Many mentions of the OECD, almost as a central organization, especially
   on Japan's priority agenda, Data Free Flow with Trust - DFFT, as well as on
   IA and digital identity;

   -

   Also, there is a mention of the new OECD forum - OECD Global Forum on
   Technology.

What are your expectations for this year's IGF with this “Northern-global
forum tone”? Share your impressions with us :)

Remember that submissions for IGF are open until May 19th.

In addition, submissions for the UNCTAD E-commerce week, which will take
place in December, *are open until June 23rd* - The sessions could be held
in person or fully online.

The e-commerce week is an interesting space for debates on the Global
South's agenda regarding trade and digital rights. Check out the call here

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts

Best regards.
