Hello,
We are reaching out to invite you to the first session of The Thraets
Debrief, an opportunity for us to update our community on what we are
thinking about and what we’ve been up to.
This session grows directly out of our recent work in 2026. We’ve been
unpacking the place of sport in monoculture and collective memory with our
look at the Lumumba moment
<https://thraets.org/lumumba-in-90-minutes-how-a-football-match-reawakened-colonial-memory/>,
documenting the rise of transnational repression in East Africa
<https://nairobi-corridor.thraets.org/>, exposing the extent of the reach
of Jeffery Epstein’s global network in Africa
<https://thraets.org/epstein-in-africa/>, and documenting the nature of
Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference in Global South conflicts
<https://the-war-btw.thraets.org/>, starting with Eastern Congo The Debrief
brings this analysis into a room where it can be interrogated,
stress-tested, and applied.
We’ll meet in a curated visual session: a focused walkthrough of what’s
shifting, why it matters, and what it suggests for our work
The event will take place on Thursday, 10 September at 4 pm East African
Time. Please confirm your attendance by registering using this link
<https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/GW80aCoAQ9usEFJPT8GqPw>.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the meeting.
We look forward to having you there.
