[globalsouthdata] Open call: Digital Librarian

Dear friends,

We are launching a new position to work remotely with us on a very
interesting project.

This position is linked to and reports to the steering committee of a new
alliance currently composed of the organizations Data Privacy Brazil, Aapti
Institute, and Paradigm Initiative. Its functions are focused on actively
sharing resources between NGOs, sharing what is produced by Global South
NGOs among Global South NGOs, organizing online materials such as podcasts,
videos, and written documents, as well as promoting exchanges between
organizations and fostering cooperation.

This position is intended to be filled by someone from Africa, Asia, or
Latin America, which aligns with the alliance's values of promoting Global
South actors in the international digital rights landscape and have
concerns about structural inequalities, restrictions on civil liberties,
and economic opportunities in the Global South.

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

   - Fluency in the English language, written and spoken (Spanish is a
   plus);
   - Good communication skills;
   - Sound organizational and administrative skills;
   - Experience with shared workspaces and Zoom platform;
   - Experience on the digital rights agenda;
   - Knowledge of civil society advocacy;
   - Flexibility to attend virtual meetings/events in different time zones;
   - Highly professional ethics;
   - Must be resourceful, a good problem-solver, and flexible

Also, the person would have the following responsibilities:

   - Have organizational skills and knowledge of published materials and
   references in the field of digital rights, to gather and disseminate
   content for and from the entities;
   - Build and maintain an updated list of relevant contacts and working
   agenda of international institutions dealing with the digital rights field;
   - Actively engage with civil society organizations and map useful
   resources that are produced by these organizations, facilitating the
   process of consumption of those
   - materials by Global South activists and policy makers;
   - Assist in organizing and implementing group info sessions and other
   relevant activities through outreach and info sharing;
   - Develop, maintain and establish excellent working relationships with a
   wide range of actors (civil society representatives, academics,
   organizations’ staff, and policy-makers).

Title: Digital Librarian
Type of work: Remote work regime (online)
Geographic position: This position is open exclusively for people from the
Global South
Type of contract: 12-month duration contract, private agreement (not
employment according to Brazilian legislation)
Salary: US$1.500,00 x 12 months = US$18.000,00
Working hours: 20 hours per week
