Dear all,

Please find below two letters that are open for sign-on, drafted by civil
society groups that are included in the existing list of sign-ons (the
first four groups). If you would like to lend your support, please either
respond directly to this email or add your organisation's name to the
documents directly. *Please do so by COB Friday 25 August.*

   - Summit for the Future ministerial modalities: this is about civil
   society participation in the Ministerial Meeting of the Summit of the
   Future, and is addressed to the summit co-facilitators (Germany & Namibia).
   The statement expresses concerns regarding the lack of information about
   the mechanisms for participation of non-governmental stakeholders, and
   provides a set of recommended actions for moving forward.

   - HLAB on Artificial Intelligence: this focuses on the high-level
   Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence, and is addressed to the UN Tech
   Envoy’s Office/Ambassador Gil. It expresses CSO concerns regarding the
   public call for nominations and notes two main concerns: (1) the timeframe
   for nominations and (2) the lack of information regarding the criteria and
   process for selecting nominees. The statement concludes with a set of
   recommendations to ensure a more open, inclusive and transparent process,
   with a particular focus on ensuring civil society participation.
